Prof. Ram Prakash Sharma was born and brought up in Dholpur District, Rajasthan, India. He obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., and M. Phil Degrees from the University of Rajasthan in 1990, 1992, and 1994 respectively. He was awarded the Ph.D. Degree in Fluid Dynamics by the Department of Mathematics, University of Rajasthan Jaipur, India in 2003. Prof. (Dr.) Ram Prakash Sharma, is a Professor of Mathematics, Former Director in charge of NIT Arunachal Pradesh, Former Member BOS, member of Senate, member Board of governors and Dean Student affairs, Dean Administration at the NIT Arunachal Pradesh. Currently he is serving in the Department of Mechanical Engineering as Professor. Prof. Sharma has been recognized in the prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists list (Stanford University/Elsevier, 2024 and 2025). His research interests include Fluid Mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Fluidization, Gasification, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Newtonian and Non-Newtonian fluids, Boundary Layer Theory, Heat and Mass transfer, Fluid flow through porous media, as well as the History of Mathematics. He has authored over 200 publications in reputed National and International Journals. He is also a reviewer of many important National and International Journals. In addition to his academic contributions, he has organized numerous National and International conferences and workshops. His Google Scholar profile reflects more than 2633 citations, with an h-index of 29 and an i10-index of 82. Prof. Sharma has more than 34 Years of UG and PG teaching and research experience. Prof. Sharma supervised 15 students for Ph.D. degree, 12 M. Tech. Students and 20 B. Tech. student for their project work. There are currently 08 students pursuing a Ph.D. research work, and 15 B.Tech. Students are pursuing their project work. He is a life member of more than one and a half dozen National and International Academic societies. Prof. Sharma was elected Joint Secretary of the Executive committee of ISTAM (International Society for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, IIT Kharagpur) From December 2015 for three years and Elected Member of the Executive committee of ISTAM from December 2014 for three years. Prof. Sharma have been elected as the member of the Council of the oldest society of the mathematics i.e., THE INDIAN MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY (IMS) (Founded in 1907) for three years from 2026 to 2029. Prof. Sharma has been organized Two, one-month Annual Foundation School, 6 International and 3 National conference, a One-month yoga training program, Five Popular lecture series. and one IST on Linear Algebra (2021) and one Teacher’s Enrichment Workshop-(TEW) on Partial Differential Equations during February 17 - March 13, 2022, sponsored by National Centre for Mathematics (NCM) IIT Mumbai. Prof. Sharma Organized one International conference in History of Mathematics, two National Conference On the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti in 2019 and 2022. Prof. Sharma has participated in more than 200 National and International seminars/ conferences and has also presented research papers. Prof. Sharma has given many invited lectures/sessions the chairs and attended over 15 ATM workshops, summer school, and an induction program. In 2024, Prof. Sharma published 24 research papers in SCIE Journals, two Book chapters, organized one, one month PM Internship program for IIT Madras Students at NIT Arunachal Pradesh. In 2026, Prof. Sharma published 21 research papers, including 16 in Q1 journals. In 2025, Prof. Sharma published 44 research papers, including 28 in Q1 journals, 11 in Q2 journals, 2 in Q3 (SCIE) journals, and 3 in Scopus-indexed journals, along with 2 book chapters. In 2026, Prof. Sharma has published 24 research papers, including 13 in Q1 journals, 6 in Q2, 2 in Q3, 3 in Q4 in a Scopus-indexed journal, and 1 in UGC Care list another category.
