Dr. Ananta Kumar Atta

Assistant Professor

Dr. Ananta Kumar Atta completed M.Sc. in organic chemistry in 2003 from Vidyasagar University, West Bengal. He received Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2010 with the thesis entitles ‘‘Acyclic Vinyl Sulfone-modified Carbohydrates: Synthesis and Intermediates for Carbocycles and Heterocycles’’. Dr. Atta pursued his postdoctoral studies with Prof. Dong Gyu Cho from April 2010 to August 2013 at Inha University, Incheon, South Korea in the field of supramolecular chemistry. After that, he joined as an Assistant Professor in chemistry at National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh, India. His current research mainly focused on the design and synthesis of carbohydrate-based fluorescent and colorimetric probes for the detection of metal ions and anions. Recently, he has published some reputed papers in the field of carbohydrate-based fluorescent and colorimetric chemosensors.
