Department Profile

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is a multidisciplinary branch that focuses on the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Established in 2010, the department has been offering a comprehensive 4-year B.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering, with an annual intake of 35 students. Additionally, since 2015, the department has introduced a postgraduate (M.Tech) program in Mechanical Engineering, admitting students each year for advanced specialization. The department also launched a Ph.D. program in 2012, providing opportunities for advanced research and academic growth in emerging areas of mechanical engineering. The department provides strong academic and practical exposure through well-equipped laboratories and workshops in areas such as Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Manufacturing Processes, and Machine Design. It also encourages research, innovation, and industry collaboration, preparing students for diverse career opportunities in core engineering sectors. Over the years, the department has aimed to develop skilled engineers and researchers capable of contributing to technological advancements and meeting the evolving demands of industry and society.
